Around the Web

*happy dance* Juliet Marillier has sold two more books in the Sevenwaters series!  “Song of the Island” will be published in 2011 (via Writers Unboxed).  While that feels like ages away at the moment, I’m thrilled that there will be more Sevenwaters.

And via Historical Tapestry, check out the graphic novel version of Pride & Prejudice (click the thumbnails at the bottom of the page to enlarge).  What do you think?  The sisters look a bit too modern for my liking, but Mr Bingley and Mr Darcy do look somewhat like how I picture them.  The only thing is that there is so much crammed into the few pages that I’m not sure if it will ever capture all the nuances of the book itself – I mean, the ball scene is on the 5th page, and I’m sure it took more than a few chapters to get there in the book.

  1. Yay! I love Juliet Marillier! May she continue to spin the wonderful stories of fantasy, folklore and myth that she does so well. So far, she’s the one author whose novels I’ve consistently enjoyed.

  2. Kailana – Oh do! It sat in my TBR pile for simply ages too. I’d love to hear what you think of it.

Sharry – I’ve only read her Sevenwaters books so far, though I’ve the first of her Bridei books sitting on my shelves. And Cybele’s Secret as well.

Nath – Heh. I remember you weren’t completely won over by “Daughter of the Forest”. For what it’s worth, I thought the h/h and their relationship in the second book was wonderful.

  3. Hey Li! I just wanted to let you know that I gave you a Premio Dardos award over at my place.

I saw some pics of that P & P, and while I love any kind of P & P stuff, the sisters did look a little too much like “hotties.”

Daughter of the Forrest is going to be my TBR Challenge book sometime in the next few months. Good to know the series is good enough to merit a few more books! I’m always a sucker for a good series!

You rock, Li! Have a great day. 🙂

  4. Angie – Yes, totally. I really hope it picks up from the end of Heir to Sevenwaters.

Renee – Big thank you 🙂 I love your posts too, esp your reviews and the quotes you choose! I adored DotF and I hope you really get into it too.
